Nuwave Oven - The Healthy Way To Cook - Great For Weight Loss

Now, you may be thinking, what is so good about this infrared oven, say compared to a normal oven.

Well, there are many good reasons as to why

Have you ever tried to lose weight?

You know it can be hard, especially when you don't live by yourself. You want healthy food, they don't. And that is a headache. Why? Because you have to cook two kinds of meals. One for you, one for them. And not only that, the preparation time is too long. With the NuWave, all you have to do is cook the same food for yourself and everyone else. Just put oil on their food and leave yours without oil. If they want some extras, such as fatty food, it does not affect your diet food, Just put it all in the same oven and cook it all at the same time. Just remember not to put your food on the bottom rack (It will absorb the oil dripping from the top rack) Put your diet food on the top rack.

What about those diet books? Believe me, if you have to follow a diet books recipes all the time you won't stick to the diet. The preparation is a hassle. Its alright once in a while to follow a diet recipe, but not every day. It takes time to prepare diet food, just like any other food.

When you are on a diet, you want to prepare the food quickly and easily, believe me. What about those diet delivery services where they prepare the meals for you? Do you really want to pay all that money?

You may be thinking, what about those non stick fry pans? Forget it. After a few uses, they are not "non stick" anymore. The food starts to stick and you have to use oil, or you will burn and ruin the frypan. For those who are not on a diet, do you fancy a stir fry with sauce? Forget about putting "sweet sauces" with the chicken or meat in those frypans. The sugar content of the sauces will burn your pan and it will be impossible or very difficult to remove. Not to mention that non stick coating. They still are not sure about the health effects of that, but I will not use those frypans and haven't used them for years. If you want to stir fry with sweet sauces, you have to use a wok. You can still use the NuWave with sauce. Just lightly cover the chicken or meat or fish with the sauce before putting it on the racks. Just don't use a very high temperature when using sauces with sugar, or the sauce on the outside will burn. Better still, just to be
safe, brush on the sauce in the last 8 minutes of cooking with one of those silicone brushes.

I cook meats and chicken at 190 degree Celsius = 374 degree Fahrenheit. I find that this temperature retains the moisture and doesn't dry out the food (As long as I get the time correct too).

With the NuWave oven you just put the food in, and go and watch tv or do the housework. It is a timesaver, and there is no way you will pay the high prices of those prepared diet meals. What I am trying to say is this: It is very very easy to prepare the meals. That is what you want when you are trying to lose weight.

Everyone knows that added fats in foods makes it impossible or more difficult to lose weight. The NuWave drains the fats in meat and chicken to the bottom of the pan. You do not have to use oil at all. Sliced vegetables, such as zucchini turn out delicious, like a barbecued flavour. If you have ever tried diet food cooked in other ways, I can tell you this, I have tried cooking meats and chicken in the grill, the food came out dry. Not only that, it didn't have such a fantastic flavour after all. The NuWave oven is unique in that it gives food a delicious flavour, unlike any other cooking method that I have tried myself. When the food is delicious, you WILL stick to the diet, long term.

You can "dry fry" in it such as chips, but without oil, they won't brown evenly. Try dipping them in lightly beaten egg white, with spices such as cayenne pepper, like in Oprahs recipe book. If you are not on a diet, just dip them in oil first, but remember, only put in one layer on the rack, because if you bundle them high on the rack, the chips on the bottom won't brown.

There is one thing to remember, you do have to get the cooking time and temperature right. If you get that wrong, you will definitely dry out the food. It takes a few weeks of practice, but eventually, you will learn.

Good points about this oven

1. Easy clean up
2. Fat free cooking
3. Unique flavoured food - Truly delicious and good for you
4. Great for losing weight
5. Fast meal preparation - Set and forget
6. Healthier way of eating
7. You will eat more vegetables than before, Why? Because they will taste really good
8. No halogen tube replacement to worry about (which can be expensive to replace)
9. Don't have to pay the high prices of the "diet meals delivery services"
10. Diet food has never tasted so good
11. Don't have to attend to the food that much, maybe turn it over during cooking to brown the other side.
12. Do you like the convenience of takeaway food? (Because you don't have to prepare anything at all?). Well, cooking with the NuWave is the same as that, just healthier for you.
13. You get three cooking methods in one (Convection, Conduction, Infrared)
14. Replaces many other kitchen appliances (grill, chicken rotisserie, oven toaster, conventional oven etc)
15. The NuWave Oven broils, bakes, fries, roasts, steams, dehydrates and barbeques without fats or oils

For those of you that are not on a diet, here is my recipe for "Kentucky Fried Chicken". O.K, so it doesn't taste EXACTLY like Kentucky Fried Chicken, but it does taste slightly similar and has a great taste and similar texture (It is more crispier though).

What is great about making Kentucky Fried Chicken in the NuWave, is that it tastes like you fried it. The oil from the chicken doesn't drip down to the tray and gets absorbed into the coating of the chicken, so it does have a fried taste without the need to deep fry anything. Not to mention, you will save a lot of money in not having to buy oil for deep frying.

KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN

Ingredients:

Milk (For dipping chicken in)

1 1/2 Cups Plain Flour (Sifted)
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Bicarbonate Of Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Cream Of Tartar
2 Teaspoons Tumeric
2 Teaspoons Light Flavoured Curry Powder
2 Teaspoons Mexican Chilli Powder or Paprika (or 1 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper)
1 Teaspoon Cardaway Seeds (Crushed with the magic bullet or similar appliance)
(Caraway seeds taste a little like licorice, so if you don't like that taste, just leave it out)
2 Teaspoons Garlic and Herb Seasoning or Similar (Usually has salt)
2 Teaspoons Cumin
2 Teaspoons Black Pepper
Salt (if needed only - Sometimes the seasonings such as the garlic and herb seasonings already have salt, so you don't have to add any more salt)

The flour has to have a beige coloured look. If it doesn't, just keep adding more spices until you get a darker colour in the flour.

You can leave out a spice if you don't like it, but don't leave out the cumin and tumeric, because they are the two that give the chicken its unique flavour.

Method

1. Put flour, spices, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda in a bowl
2. Dip chicken in the milk, then in the spicy flour mixture
3. Repeat the above 2 times
4. You must grease the racks with oil or the coating will stick to the rack when turning chicken over.
4. Bake on the top rack 190 Degrees Celsius (374 degrees fahrenheit) for 15 minutes, turn over and bake another 15 minutes (Total 30 minutes cooking time)

If you like spicy food, you will love this chicken. If you don't like spicy food, don't cook this, as you will not like it.
